KUBOTA RTV 500's are known for over heating. The main reason for over heating is a poor cooling system design and radiator that needs cleaning every few hrs depending on conditions.The RTV 500 has an opening on the bottom where the air is sucked from, this opening is straight in the path of dust, grass,mud etc wich is thrown up by the right hand side front wheel.

I have made a modification to the cooling system by covering the opening on the bottom and made a opening on the side, this help to keep the radiator much cleaner by about 80% as the fan suck clean air from the side. Cleaning the radiator is also much easier now as there is a big opening to inspect and clean the radiator.

I recently posted about a RTV X900 that had done 43000km, well look at the pictures, that's what you could get out of your RTV when serviced regularly and taken care of. Unfortunately the front hubs was never serviced.
