“If I don’t go to the dealership, I’ll lose my car warranty”.
Absolute rubbish.
As long as your mechanic:
👍 Is fully qualified
👍 Follows the manufacturer’s schedule
👍 OE or equivalent quality parts and fluids
👍 Documents the services and stamps your logbook
Then you’re safe under the Australian Consumer Law and they cannot void your warranty for choosing a qualified independent mechanic over a dealership. It is common for dealerships to give you a promised capped logbook service pricing, but that doesn't mean you're locked into them.
You don’t have to choose between convenience and keeping your warranty.
