From humble beginnings as a small classic car parts supplier formed in 1995, Ol’ School Garage has grown to become a leader in the car restoration businesses in Queensland. To facilitate this growth, we have expanded our workshop facilities in Brisbane's automotive hub of Hillcrest with over 1,000 square metres of floor area at our disposal. Ol’ School Garage is a family business and is proudly Australian-owned and operated. 1957 Standard Super 10.

Some cars are special because of what they are. Others are special because of the story behind them.

This little Standard 10 has been in the family since new, and we’re pretty proud to have played a part in bringing it back to life.

Now finished and back on the road — looking every bit as good as it deserves to.

A beautiful little piece of history.

It’s not all V8s and 1000 horsepower around here. 😂

Sometimes you just need 10 horsepower, a gorgeous little 1957 Standard 10.

Ken and Olja took this one out for a test drive and were taken back to the simplicity of an Ol' School Sunday drive. 😎

This little Standard 10 came to us through Ian, whose family has owned it since new - making it a pretty special car to be part of.

Different car. Different pace. Still plenty of character.

RESTORATION DIARIES | ’68 Mustang GT 🔧

This Mustang came to us already built, but the new owner wanted to take it further.

We've been carrying out a range of upgrades to bring the car up to the owner's vision — including work on the engine, brakes, suspension, tyres and air conditioning.

Now it's time to fire it up for the first time since the upgrades.

One more milestone in this Mustang's journey.

It’s not just a paint job, wait until you see what the owner thought.

On a full custom build, every single part gets attention.

Hours of preparation, hours in the booth, and plenty of time making sure even the smallest components are finished to the same standard as the rest of the car.

Because when you’re building something properly, there’s no such thing as “no one will see that.”

And after seeing what was under the bonnet, the owner summed it up perfectly…

We’ll take that as a compliment.

WORKSHOP WISDOM 🔧

Sometimes the problem isn't the part — it's how it fits.

This crank pulley bolt looked perfect when it was first installed, but after the vehicle was driven, things started shifting and making a noise.

The bolt supplied with the part wasn't quite right for the application, allowing movement that wasn't there when everything was sitting still in the workshop.

It took a bit of investigation to find the cause, then a simple fix to get everything properly secured.

It's a good reminder that with older cars, you can't always rely on something simply *fitting*.

You need to understand how it works, how it moves and what happens once the car is actually on the road.

That's where experience matters.
