Shoutout to JAX Tyres Burleigh. Loving the new wheels and tyres. Been busy, new rubber seals for the windscreen and boot. Next up, new brake master cylinder from a 7 series along with new brake lines.

The new Thermostat, Thermostat Housing and Alternator.

It’s been a big couple of weeks. I installed the new Thermostat, Thermostat Housing and Expansion Tank. I took the car to the auto electrician during the week to put in the new Alternator. Can finally now get onto painting the car.

So currently have a number of things on the go. In trying to sort out the alternator issues, I inadvertently found one of the coolant hoses hanging by a thread from the thermostat housing. Used it as an excuse to put in a new thermostat and housing. The coolant expansion tank is looking a bit worse for wear, and after several attempts at cleaning the thing, I bit the bullet and bought a new one. Sourced a secondhand housing thanks to Mario Mekhael. Now just waiting on the thermostat and the expansion tank to arrive.

Finally got the car back. Transmission is great. Unfortunately on the way home, the car died. I thought it was the alternator or starter motor. RACQ say it’s an alternator issue. I have just changed the voltage regulator and hopefully that will rectify the problem. In changing that over I discovered one of the mounts for a cooling hose has pretty much disintegrated. It feels like one step forward, two steps back at the moment.
