Suzuki Grand Vitara – Sometimes Diagnosis Comes First
Had this Suzuki Grand Vitara booked in for a service and tune-up after the customer reported a multiple-cylinder misfire.
Before carrying out the service or replacing any parts, we performed a compression test to make sure we knew exactly what we were dealing with.
Unfortunately, the results came back with the worst-case scenario. The spark plugs showed signs of oil burning, and two cylinders recorded 0 PSI compression.
At this point, the customer was informed of the findings and, rather than carrying out a service that wasn't going to fix the underlying problem, no further work was performed.
This is why proper diagnosis matters. There’s no point throwing parts and money at a vehicle without first finding the cause of the problem.
