Yesterday I had the chance to jump behind the wheel of the TA2 Mustang with Ashley Jarvis Racing at Queensland Raceway 🏁
This marks a massive step toward our goal at Frisch Motorsport — securing a drive in the TA2 Muscle Car Series.

It was my first time steering a TA2 car, so the day was all about learning how it reacts and finding rhythm on track — but we still managed to put down some solid times 💪

A huge thank you to DGM Farming Consultants for their support — without them, this test wouldn’t have been possible. And big thanks to Ashley Jarvis and his family-run team for the opportunity and their professionalism throughout the day.

Now, eyes forward — we’re more motivated than ever to make this happen 🔥

First race in the Stock Cars Australia National Series 🏁🔥
The setup was way off — way too soft and understeering like crazy, fighting it every lap — but we weren’t backing down. Starting mid-field and working through the pack lap by lap, the 23° small-block Chev screamed under the warm Sydney lights.

That sound. That heat. That rush.
Still gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, a fantastic New Year, and a great Australia Day! While we’ve been a bit quieter on social media recently, things have been busy in the workshop. Here’s a quick update on what’s been going on:

As always, we’re working hard to get fully acquainted with the car. We’ve been measuring up the chassis and front-end geometry, calculating the moment and roll centers, and weighing the car to figure out our starting point. We’ve also mocked up the engine and gearbox to assess what needs modification and what can stay as it is.

The quarter panels have also been addressed, as they were left unfinished from the re-body back in the ’90s.

The highlight of our week was spending Australia Day with Aussie racing legend John Sheppard! John originally built our NASCAR 35+ years ago when it was an Oldsmobile Delta 88. He came by the workshop to see the car, swap some great stories from his NASCAR and touring car days, and offer some expert advice on our Pontiac build. It was an amazing experience, and we’re hoping to bring him back once the car is finished!

We’ve got plenty of work ahead of us, but we’ll do our best to keep sharing updates along the way!
