URGENT ASAP Has anyone got a mounting bracket compatible with a Waterman mechanical fuel pump? The team in Karratha is experiencing issues with the old pump, but they have a new Waterman pump available, lacking only the mounting bracket. Alternatively, is there someone in the area with access to a lathe who could assist in modifying the old bracket to fit the new pump? The event is scheduled for tonight.

SUCCESS the boys from The Pilbara Hub have successfully completed the task. Last week Brett McDonald contacted us with a last-minute request to perform an engine freshen-up before the Karratha burnouts on 17th July, as the car had been sitting in the shed untouched for a while. The team at The Pilbara Hub promptly removed the engine and had it transported from Karratha to Perth. Upon arrival, we prioritized the task, picking it up from Midvale, and thoroughly stripped, cleaned, inspected, and reassembled the engine with new bearings and gaskets, finishing it with a fresh coat of paint. The engine was then packaged and returned to the Midvale depot within three days, one of which was my birthday. This exemplifies the extraordinary lengths we go to for our customers who participate in burnout events nationwide. The team successfully installed the engine while awaiting the arrival of parts to repair the mechanical fuel pump, which arrived just in time. The vehicle is now ready for Brett McDonald, the event sponsor, to put it to the test tomorrow and Saturday at the Karratha burnouts.

Not every job makes it onto our page. Some builds are about the work that happens behind the scenes — the machining, measuring, and problem solving that goes into creating something custom.

While a mitsubishi triton 4G64 teardown might not be the most exciting content for everyone so instead these progress clips show the type of modifications required to fit a centre counterweight crankshaft into a 5.3 iron LS block.

Custom engine builds aren’t just about bolting parts together — it’s about understanding what needs to be changed, making it work properly, and building it to handle the job.

More progress to come.

We were fortunate enough today to have this footage submitted to us from a professional drone pilot providing an update on the progress at the Perth Motorplex.
Thanks mate 👍

We have obtained a sample air filter to initiate the production of our custom-designed model, tailored to fit a barn door style injector hat, which also appears to be compatible with a bird catcher. (Big and ugly style will also be available) We invite competitors participating in country burnout events where dust is prevalent to contact us if interested, as we need to determine the required quantity for production. We can also arrange for your personal logo to be imprinted onto the front plate.
