I would to thank all the sale holders for yesterday's sale, unfortunately not the turn out we had last year. I will re evaluate dates etc. if we go ahead next year.
I would like to make a special mention to those of you who stepped up and helped me (you know who you are), as it was a sad day for us loosing a furbaby family member.
I would like to share and Thank Dr Cate Sutton for all your help. Anyone that wants a mobile vet to come to you I can recommend Dr Cate with all my heart. Cate stepped in and helped us with what we couldn't even comprehend. From the bottom of our broken hearts Cate, THANK YOU 😢
After graduating with honours from the University of Sydney in 1994 Cate moved to Northern Victoria to work in a mixed dairy practice. She worked there for the next 3 years developing her skills in both small and large animal medicine and surgery. It was here she met her husband.
At the beginning of 1998 they moved to the United Kingdom where Cate worked as a locum in a variety of small and mixed practices for almost 2 years gaining broad experience and exposure to varying techniques.
On her return to Australia she was invited to become a partner in the Northern Victorian practice where she had worked as a new graduate. At that time a branch practice was purchased which became Cate’s “baby” and with the assistance of dedicated staff it grew into a strong performing practice in its own right.
Throughout the past 17 years Cate has done all the required continuing education plus extra study in both small animal surgery and ultrasonography. In 2011 she completed a 4 year Masters degree in small animal practice through Murdoch University in Perth. During this period she and her husband have been raising 3 beautiful daughters and their family dog “Kevin the Kelpie”.
In 2015 following the devastating ANZAC Day earthquake Cate volunteered to travel to Nepal to be one of only three experienced cattle vets to be in the country to provide veterinary support for the sacred animals which represent the backbone of Nepalese society. It was the most professionally rewarding experience of her career and she hopes to be able to do more volunteering in the future.
Cate moved north in 2016 to avoid the cold weather of Victoria and after six months working in a local clinic she recognises she has something different to offer, taking advantage of her broad experience, her commitment to professionalism and the latest techniques. After starting Beachside in January 2017, the business has grown from a mobile service to a small clinic in Yorkeys K**b, and since July 2023 the fully equiped hospital facility in Smithfield from which we operate today
Cate projects a bright and cheery manner and has a strong passion for animal care and support for clients. She and her highly dedicated team will always strive for the best outcome for both owner and pet.
