Looking forward to getting this Link ECU PnP setup sorted on the Galant! The Galant will be the test car for all sorts of things that will end up in the V8 chassis.

In other news!
Over Christmas we picked up this Galant as a test vehicle for parts that the V8 might break. is going to help us give it an overhaul.
Should be a fun little street car and maybe get it ready for some roll racing even.
I wonder if Winfab Performance will modernise some of the hard piping for us 🤣 I know you want to!!

So we’ve had a busy couple of late afternoons!
Test chassis… coped a fair bit of chopping. 🫣
A lot more than I expected.
I hadn’t accounted for 20mm of adaptor plate (my bad!) so the chassis rail needed notching a decent amount and the shock tower coped a beating as well.
The suggestion of tube front end has come up a couple of times now, which is a consideration.
I know I’m able to add enough strength back into that chassis rail with some thick wall box section and some gussets, so for now that is the plan.
My test adaptor has torn the bolt holes out from abuse, but thankfully have a much stronger one on the way from Paul Gatt!
Once we test fit everything again and finalise position of the motor, I’ll throw a level over everything and can make up a bracket for the stock Legnum drivers side engine mount. Adding the 5° tilt to that bracket so the engine mount is flat will be an interesting endeavour! It will likely look like a wedge shape, with 3x studs in it. Surprisingly the stock Legnum engine mount almost bolts up to the factory V8 position.
Plan from here:
Get everything bolted in.
Make a drivers side engine mount bracket.
Test fit things like brake booster, alternator, A/C compressor.
All going well, weld up test chassis rail.
Cut, weld, grind, paint actual chassis.

Well! We’re getting damn close to having this all bolt together!
Had a bit of spare time due to rain this week so I put some time in on the adaptor fitment.
The transfer case fits. But actually installing it means it needs a bit more space to slide it onto the gearbox output spline etc.
So a bit more clearancing to go and then I’ll have it all bolted up!
Big thanks again to Adam Findlay and Paul Gatt for the help getting a practice adaptor designed and printed!

Sorry there hasn’t been an update. The V8 is ticking along in the background! But have had a couple of days leveling a pad for a shed. Will hopefully get some photos within the next week of the motor fully bolted up to a gearbox with transfer case on it. Then probably a hot tank of the bottom end stuff so hopefully the sump welds okay for Winfab Performance .
