With the Labour day long weekend fast approaching did you know that the Emu Creek camping and day use area is only 17 kms South of Blackbutt? Of course you did, here are some facts to refresh you on.

The camping area is a large, open grassy area that is accessible by a large variety of vehicles (with care) as the road is gravel. It is an affordable camping ground ideal for families with a capacity of 150 people. Although dogs are not allowed in camping area, they are however allowed on a leash in the adjacent day-use area.

The area has a number of facilities including flushing toilets, cold showers, tap water (treat before drinking). Wood fires are allowed in the constructed fireplaces that are provided (except when fire bans are in place).

What to bring? Drinking water, rubbish bags, insect repellent, fuel or gas stove.
You will need to bring your own firewood if you want to use the fireplaces.

Blackbutt smash repairs have been in operation for over 55 years providing customers with the highest standard of collision repair work through their expertise and is the South Burnetts Largest private family owned and operated collision repairer. We are currently on the lookout for a self-motivated professional looking to become part of our team.

About the region -

Blackbutt is located within the South Burnett and is located approximately 150km North West by road from Brisbane CBD and 140km West by road from the Sunshine Coast. The South Burnett is situated on the Great Dividing Range and to the south-west is the Bunya Mountains (known for its picturesque views).

The region covers 8,399km2 and is renowned for being a quality agricultural district that exports nationally and internationally.

The primary centre for the South Burnett region is Kingaroy (60 km North of Blackbutt), there are a number of large townships in the region such as Murgon, Nanango, Proston & Wondai. The Smaller townships include Benarkin, Durong, Hivesville, Kumbia, Maidenwell, Memerambi, Tingoora & Wooroolin.

As of 27/04/25 there are currently some 40 vacant rental properties.

The region is family orientated with schools at the heart of each township. There are also great parks and facilities maintained by the well-regarded South Burnett Regional Council.

There is a number water related activities (Canoe/ kayaking, fishing, water sports and bird watching) to be had in any of major river systems and dams within the South Burnett Region which include the Stuart River, Boyne River, Barambah Creek, Barkers Creek, Cooyar Creek, Boondooma Dam, Bjelke Petersen Dam, and Gordonbrook Dam.


We are seeking a self-motivated individual to fulfill and excel in this role.

To do this you will have:

Cert 3 in Automotive Spray Painting (or Similar)

A keen eye for attention to detail

We are seeking a self-motivated individual to fulfill both roles as a vehicle detailer and trade assistant.

The role involves the following (but not limited to):

Disassembly and reassembly of customer vehicles – Training provided.

Detailing and final preparation of vehicles to the highest standard ready for customer collection.

This will include:

Washing of all repaired/ serviced customer vehicles.

Fitment of small accessories – Training provided.

What we want:

Motivated team members, experience not necessary although would be looked at favourably.

Some Experience with buffing and applying paint protection.

A can-do attitude and the desire to be the best.

Long term position, with the opportunity for advancement for the right candidate.

Current manual C class licence.

Ongoing training in paint protection and interior protection.

Willingness to work in a dynamic fast paced team environment.
