Dear valued patrons,
We regret to inform you of an unfortunate incident that occurred last night. During the course of the evening, one of our small karts, as shown in the attached photo, went missing. The kart in question was rented for a duration of 15 minutes, starting at 7:18pm, with a scheduled return time of 7:35pm (accounting for an additional 2 minutes on the timers). Unfortunately, the kart was never returned to our premises. Our rental system solely records payment transactions, provides timers, and logs kart numbers, start/end times, and durations. Consequently, we do not possess any information regarding the identity of the individual who rented the kart.
Typically, the majority of our customers diligently return the karts within the agreed-upon timeframe. However, on this particular occasion, rain began to fall gradually after 8pm. Consequently, we promptly arranged the remaining karts and proceeded to the stage.
At approximately 8:15pm, my cousin arrived and commenced the process of loading the karts for transport. By 8:45pm, he had loaded the final batch and noticed that one kart was conspicuously absent. Upon returning home, we conducted a thorough count of the karts and confirmed that the small red kart was indeed missing. Subsequently, we revisited the plaza and conducted a search for the kart, unfortunately yielding no results.
Following this incident, we wish to assure you that our rental service will continue to operate. However, as of today, we will be implementing a new policy: the NO ID, NO RENT policy. Henceforth, in order to rent our karts, customers will be required to leave a valid identification document with us. This precautionary measure is intended to enhance the security of our operations and ensure the safe return of our karts after use.
Looking ahead, should any future incidents arise involving the failure to return a rented kart, leading to a suspected theft, we will not hesitate to take legal action against the responsible party for theft.
